Paradise Member Claire Lansenebre is Miss West Flanders 2023

Claire Lansenebre was elected Miss West Flanders 2023 on Sunday evening at the Plopsa Theatre in De Panne. Besides the mis-election and her job as pastry chef at La Terrasse Du Zoute, she can always be found at Surfers Paradise for kitesurfing and at Lakeside Paradise she is also known to come wakeboarding weekly.

She learnt to kitesurf at Surfers Paradise in 2021 last year and so quickly developed a passion for wakeboarding and wave surfing as well. Last winter, together with our kitesurfing manager Tom, she spent 2 months on the island of Siargao where she helped with the relief effort. In addition to helping out, she was also able to surf every day and thus update her surfing skills very quickly.

Claire lives in Zeebrugge and has Filipino roots. She grew up on Cebu, a Filipino island. Her mum is a Filipina, her biological dad an American. When she was 17, she moved to Flanders. Her mum had been living there for several years in Ghent.

At the Miss West Flanders pageant, Claire also snatched the titles of Miss Talent, Miss Audience and Miss Charity. It is the first time a candidate has captured all titles at once! The next step is the National Preselection, where 70 girls will compete for 30 places in the grand final of Miss Belgium.
Surely you will vote for our surfer too ?
