Teenage sports afternoons at Surfers & Lakeside Paradise!

Teenage sports afternoons at Surfers & Lakeside Paradise!

After the Easter holidays, both Surfers and Lakeside Paradise want to get teenagers into sports again and by extension as many people as possible back into water sports, as by then the water temperature will be a lot warmer.

After all, Corona cannot swim and the more time we spend outdoors, the fewer infections there will be, and the stronger your body will become.

Frank Vanleenhove: "It is generally said that there was a lot more sporting activity during the last corona year. That may well be, but for the 13 to 18-year olds this is anything but the case, I think. Until recently, this age group was not allowed to train, there were no competitions, no indoor sports... and this age group does not get its kicks from a bike ride or a walk, or from going for a jog. Our aim is to give this group a fun and action-packed afternoon by the sea, the sun and the beach, or by sliding across the Duinenwater lake. In this way, the computer, TV, mobile phone and gaming can be put aside for a while, and they can get a taste of the open air while moving. Who knows, maybe they will become passionate about one sport or another and have a great summer after their exams?

Offer Surfers Paradise

Starting on 21 April, Surfers Paradise organises a water and beach sports afternoon for "adolescent" teenagers aged 13 to 18 every Wednesday afternoon until the end of May, from 2 to 4 pm.

Depending on the weather conditions and the wishes of the participants, a selection is made from the wide range of sports the club has to offer. Experience is not required and all materials are provided. The only necessities are sports and bathing suits, a towel and a dose of good humour and sportsmanship. Are there good waves, for example? Then of course we will go wave surfing. If there is a stiff breeze, you can expect an initiation to kiting. If the sea is as flat as a pancake, you can go supping or kayaking. There are also rafts to overcome the surf together. On the beach, you can play beach volleyball, beach paddle and speed sail. There are also e-skates, longboards and hamboards to provide the necessary dose of fun. Of course, several activities per afternoon are possible.

Advance registration is required and there will be guidance from expert and enthusiastic instructors. 1 session costs 20€, for 6 sessions you pay 100€: this includes guidance, material, a drink and insurance. Everything is organised fully coronaproof in small groups according to the applicable regulations.

Pre-registration is required each time via www.surfersparadise.be registration form or via 050/615960

Offer Lakeside Paradise.

Here, every Wednesday from 21 April to the end of May, from 13-15h, all young people can wakeboard and/or water ski on Lake Duinenwater. Expert cable operators provide proper guidance and all equipment is included. Participation is 30 € for 2 hours instead of 45 €. If you would like to participate in the 6 sessions, you can do so for € 150 instead of € 180.
